Started producing with MPC Beats as free with MPK Mini, quickly decided against it and downloaded ableton trial
Here is a pic of me during my first music and visuals live set. It was my first time performing and it went ok. It was at a boutique Irish festival called “If You Know You Know”, a few friends of mine run the festival and were kind enough to let me do a short live set, which was a great learning opportunity for me.

Streichfett
The Waldorf Streichfett is a really lush sounding digital synth, it works really well for synth strings and other orchestral bits. It has 2 separate sections, strings and solo, which can be configured to play on different MIDI channels. Very fun to play around with and makes production ready sounds! I don’t own this one, it’s on loan from my best mate Conor.

Nanokontrol2
The Korg NanoKontrol 2 is a compact midi controller. 8 faders, 8 knobs and 35 buttons, and they can all be programmed to send different MIDI messages through the Korg software. It’s a very cheap controller and very good value for money. Since upgrading my laptop, I have not been able to get it to connect properly, I’ve tried all the fixes and tips and tricks online and had no luck. It still works perfectly with my Oxi One sequencer as an external MIDI controller.

ME-30
The Boss ME-30 is a multi effect pedal. I did not buy it, it actually belongs to an old band mate of my dad’s, who left it in my dad’s car after a gig. Eddie, the original owner, passed away in the last couple of years. He was a really good guitarist by all accounts!

Maschine Sound Packs
I use Native Instruments Maschine + a lot and have recently been getting more comfortable with different sampling sampling techniques. In learning about sampling I have used Maschine’s auto sampling function to record hardware synths and VSTs into Maschine, so they can be used as Native Instruments Maschine Sound Files. I will put up any sample packs I make for free download. If you don’t use Maschine, the audio files will also be uploaded as WAVs so they can be used with any sampler of your choice

There Are Ghosts
I am currently working on an album titled “There Are Ghosts”. There are 27 tracks and it’s all over 170bpm, the music is fairly extreme, lots of orchestra and heavily distorted kicks. It is mostly a learning experience, as I am trying to learn more about sampling, mixing and mastering.
This album is NOT about ghosts. But there definitely are ghosts in it.
